An Ethernet switch creates networks and uses multiple ports to communicate between devices in the LAN. Ethernet switches differ from routers, which connect networks and use only a single LAN and WAN port. A full wired and wireless corporate infrastructure provides wired connectivity and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.

Unmanaged Switches-X-000

Easy and cost-effective. The unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch SCALANCE X000 is optimized for low-cost installation of small Industrial Ethernet networks with transmission rates of 10/100 Mbps and line or star topologies.

Ideal solution for configuring small Industrial Ethernet line and star topologies. Space-saving installation in the cabinet thanks to compact design in SIMATIC S7-300 format. Reliable device connection with industry-standard fast connect plugs. Installation possible without patch field by means of IE FC RJ45 plug 180 and IE FC standard cable. Uncrossed connecting cables can be used due to the integrated autocrossover function. The SCALANCE X005EEC (Enhanced Environmental Conditions) is suitable for use in rail and road transport since it meets EN 50155 and E1 specifications. Unmanaged Switches-XB-000

The unmanaged Industrial Ethernet switches of the SCALANCE XB-000 line enable cost-effective solutions for setting up small, electrical/optical star or line topologies with switching functionality in machines or plant units. The enclosure is designed for space-saving installation in a control cabinet on a standard rail. A 3-pole terminal block for connecting the power supply (1 x 24 V DC) and functional ground. An LED for indicating the status information (power), (link status and data exchange) per port. Automatic data transmission rate detection (10 or 100 Mbps), with Autosensing and Autocrossing function for connecting IE TP cables up to 100 m.

Unmanaged Switches X-100

SCALANCE XC-100

The robust unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switches SCALANCE XC-100 with electrical and/or optical port variants enable cost-optimized networking at the machine level. With SCALANCE X108PoE, you also save on installation costs thanks to integrated Power-over-Ethernet functionality: Data and power are transferred over a single cable (Railway approval EN 50155). SCALANCE XC-100 switches are tested under extreme conditions and are designed for use in harsh environments. SCALANCE XC-100 switches are designed for use in control cabinets. They can withstand harsh ambient conditions and can be used in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +70°C and in areas at risk of explosion rated Zone 2 in accordance with ATEX and IECEx.

SCALANCE XR-100WG

The cost-optimized unmanaged SCALANCE XR-100WG 19″ rack switches (work group) have a small mounting depth, which means two switches can be installed on both sides to save space in the control cabinet. SCALANCE XR-100WG switches are ideally suited for a wide variety of industry-related applications and control rooms. They have up to 24 Fast Ethernet ports, and the 24 V DC versions with a redundant power supply can deliver reliable operation, even during power failures. The SCALANCE XR-100WG Industrial Ethernet switches have a rugged metal enclosure and can be used in areas at risk of explosion.

SCALANCE XB-100

SCALANCE XB-100 unmanaged Industrial Ethernet switches have a high port density with up to 24 x RJ45 ports and a data rate of 10/100 Mbit/s. Their plastic housing keeps their weight low, and their compact design makes them ideal for installation in control cabinets. Versions with fiber-optic connections enable setup of both electrical as well as optical line and star topologies. even in areas at risk of explosion. All SCALANCE XB-100 devices are ideally suited for industrial use thanks to their redundant 24 V DC power supply. Their 24 V AC (50/60 Hz) power supply also makes them an excellent choice for the Ethernet connection of monitoring, control and optimization devices in building automation. X-100 Media converter

The low-cost conversion of electrical signals into optical signals within Industrial Ethernet networks is made possible with the compact SCALANCE X101-1 media converter. The media converters can bridge distances of up to 26 km. SCALANCE X-100 Industrial Ethernet media converters with a robust metal housing are optimized for assembly on a standard rail and a SIMATIC S7-300 mounting rail. The media converters are typically placed in a control cabinet together with the elements to be connected. They can be used in line, star, and ring topologies. Managed Industrial Ethernet switches Layer 2

SCALANCE XC-200

Virtual LANs (VLAN), redundancy mechanisms, and optional complete PROFINET or Ethernet/IP diagnostics in one device. Using the Fast Ethernet and Gigabit versions, powerful, reliable Industrial Ethernet networks can be established, and electrical and optical topologies likewise. For bandwidth-intensive applications, e.g. in tunnels, or high-availability control concepts, the SCALANCE XC-200G Gigabit versions are the ideal choice. The SCALANCE XC-200 Industrial Ethernet switches with SFP(Small Form-factor Pluggable) slots enable the setup of fast Gigabit connections. Thanks to a wide range of features, such as an extended temperature range (‐40°C to +70°C) and approvals for railway applications (trackside) and explosion-proof areas (ATEX Zone 2, IECEx), the various SCALANCE XC‐200 switches can be flexibly deployed in a variety of environments: machine construction, the automotive industry, the Food and Beverages industry, along rail-mounted routes in tunnels with video transmission, e.g. for height checks, or in the Oil and Gas industry. In addition, optical lines can be monitored for wear and tear or contamination with the Fiber Monitoring function, thus avoiding downtimes. SCALANCE XF-200

The SCALANCE XF-200BA Industrial Ethernet switches have the same extra-flat design as the SIMATIC ET 200SP with a flexible bus adapter concept: This allows installation of various network topologies for copper or fiber-optic cables. In addition, there are SCALANCE XF-200 switches with the same flat design as the SIMATIC ET 200S, various port constellations and a diagonal cable outlet.  Save space in the control panel when constructing your network thanks to the flat design of the SCALANCE XF-200. Equipped with coated printed circuit boards (Conformal Coating) and with a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, the managed switches are ideal for use in manufacturing and process automation, for example in automobile manufacturing or in the Oil and Gas industry.

SCALANCE XP-200

The managed switches of the SCALANCE XP-200 product line are characterized by a robust and flat metal enclosure in M12 connection technology for a high degree of protection (IP65). Up to four gigabit ports enable the transmission of large amounts of data; devices with a total output of 120W can be supplied via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3at Type 2. Like all managed layer 2 switches, the SCALANCE XP-200 features numerous firmware functions – such as virtual LANs (VLAN) and redundancy mechanisms – which can, when necessary, be switched for complete PROFINET or EtherNet/IP diagnostics. The cabinet-free design allows for use both indoors and outdoors. A robust and reliable operation is thus provided in many industries – ranging from automotive, transportation, Food & Beverage, to Oil & Gas.

The managed switches of the SCALANCE XB-200 product line save space and feature a lightweight, industry-compatible plastic housing. They support PROFINET and EtherNet/IP (optionally switchable) and can thus be used for real-time communication applications. SCALANCE XB-200 Industrial Ethernet switches enable the setup of virtual networks thanks to their VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) functionality and can also be deployed in potentially explosive areas (IECEx/ATEX Zone 2/UL HazLoc).

Specially designed for strict real-time applications: The SCALANCE X-200IRT managed Industrial Ethernet switches come in extremely compact or flat design and are especially easy to use. The SCALANCE X-200IRT managed Industrial Ethernet switches (Isochronous Real- Time) are extremely versatile, they can be used for machine-level applications right up to networked plant sections in PROFINET environments. The SCALANCE X-200IRT real-time switches with integrated real-time ASIC are ideal, for example, for high-performance, isochronous motion control applications.

SCALANCE X-400 switches let you design networks in the Control Level area and ensure maximum availability. Thanks to the scalability of the basic unit and the optional Layer 3 switching function, the network can be built specifically for relevant particular application or extended at any time. Its comboports permit electrical or optical networking, even during operation (hot swappable). The switches in the SCALANCE X-400 family are closely based on the design of the SIMATIC S7-1500 family of controllers, from the lettering on the controls to the structure of the rail mounting.
